The Hunchback of Notre Dame

Costume Designer  •  Arts Express  •  Spring 2018

In designing this show, I started by establishing a look for the period in the 15th century for the wealthy people, the clergy folk, and the gypsies. I chose to use a lot of color for the gypsies and townspeople to contrast with the more muted tone of the people of Notre Dame. One challenge was locating the armor, which the team ended up building. I also built Esmeralda's prison dress so that it had a hidden train, so that when she stood up as an angel, she was differentiated.
